Frequently asked questions
Why does it need a stereo file?
Vocal removal works by subtracting the left and right channels. Mono files have no stereo field to work with, so they can't be processed.
Why does some vocal remain sometimes?
The technique removes the center only. Vocals with heavy reverb, delay or panning leave traces — that is a limitation of center-channel cancellation, not a setting.
Is the instrumental lossless?
Yes. The result is written as lossless PCM WAV, and no lossy re-encoding is involved.
