Are the rates live?
The tool fetches fresh mid-market rates from a free public API on every load. If the fetch fails (offline or blocked), it falls back to built-in reference rates.
Why does my bank give a different rate?
Banks and cards apply a markup (typically 1–3%) plus possible fixed fees on top of the mid-market rate. The converter shows the mid-market rate before those costs.
Can I add my own API key for rates?
Yes — the site owner can set an exchange-rate API key in the admin panel, which makes live-rate fetching more reliable.
